Meet Warren Heir Jr.: The Craft Behind JR’s Cycle Products and Mama Tried
Share
Warren Heir Jr. is a Milwaukee-based builder and the owner of JR’s Cycle Products, where his deep passion for crafting and restoring custom motorcycles takes center stage. Growing up in northern Illinois, Warren was immersed in the Harley-Davidson world thanks to his father, Warren Heir Sr., who built a long career servicing and maintaining Harleys. That early exposure sparked a lifelong obsession for Warren Jr., who now works alongside his father to keep that family motorcycle legacy alive.
The Mama Tried Motorcycle Show was born when Warren met Scott Johnson, a fellow Milwaukee rider and metric bike enthusiast, in the aftermath of the legendary Rocker Box street show. The two bonded over their shared love of motorcycles and a simple idea: cool motorcycles and cooler people. While the motorcycles are the tie that binds, the people, builders and passionate attendees alike, are what make this show so special. Warren's love of choppers began to rub off on Scott, while Scott’s love of race bikes influenced Warren. That mutual inspiration not only shaped the show—which leans toward choppers while celebrating all types of bikes—but also pushed both to throw their own helmets into the ring as racers, participating in Flat Out Friday events.
Through JR’s Cycle Products and Mama Tried, Warren has become a cornerstone of the Midwest (if not the global) motorcycle community. His blend of craftsmanship, heritage, and camaraderie continues to fuel a space where builders, riders, and enthusiasts of every style can share their passion and keep the culture thriving for generations.
