Builder Spotlight: Brandon Wald

Builder Spotlight: Brandon Wald

When it comes to motorcycles, few people embody the mix of loyalty, creativity, and pure passion quite like Brandon Wald. Known on Instagram as @brundlebronson, Brandon has built a life around bikes that blends everyday riding, custom paint, and the kind of road stories that become lifelong memories.

The Daily Rider

For Brandon, motorcycles are more than a hobby—they’re a way of life. His 2005 Harley-Davidson Super Glide Sport is the daily go-to, praised for its reliability and the ease of an electric start. A couple of winters ago, he stripped it down to the frame, powdered the chassis, refreshed everything, and added a fresh paint job. True to form, he admits he’ll probably change the paint again eventually—because leaving things “as-is” just isn’t in his nature.

Still, Brandon’s heart lies with his 1969 Harley-Davidson Shovelhead, a bike he’ll never part with. Whether it’s swapping parts, changing paint schemes, or keeping it fresh for the next show, that Shovel is a constant in his story.

Influences and Inspirations

Brandon’s roots in motorcycles trace back to his family. Growing up, his dad and uncles all rode, and he was always surrounded by bikes. His uncle owned a body shop that fixed semis, where Brandon started working at 18. During winters, he picked up painting motorcycles for extra cash—and soon after, he was hooked. Since owning his Shovelhead, he’s been chasing new looks and projects ever since.

Outside of motorcycles, Brandon finds inspiration in houses, hot rods, and anything customizable—a passion influenced by his wife, Kayla. He’s also a music guy, naming Black Label Society, Staind, and Cinderella as his top bands, with a steady diet of comedy podcasts like Your Mom’s House and Kill Tony.

Community and Events

Ask him about his favorite motorcycle event, and his answer is simple: Mama Tried. For Brandon, it’s about more than the show—it’s about the friends, the talent, and the chance to see what everyone has been working on. His excitement for this year’s show is especially high, as his freshly painted Shovelhead will be on display.

Some of his best memories are tied to motorcycles, from childhood rides on a temperamental late-70s Kawasaki dirt bike, to an unforgettable road trip to Winnipeg on Tiny Dancer, a custom bike built by Scott of Noise Cycles. That trip—complete with endless gas stops, a towing mishap, and overloaded bags pawned off on friends—still stands out as one of his favorites.

Style and Loyalty

Brandon is a Harley guy through and through. He’s quick to credit Pooks Parts for his favorite aftermarket addition—fork tube lowers on his Shovelhead, calling their work wizardry. If money were no object, he’d track down a mint FXRT and build it out with modern touches.

When it comes to riding, his top activity is simple: riding with friends in the summer, headed to grab an ice-cold beer. For him, motorcycles are about camaraderie, creativity, and the shared passion of the ride.

Life Beyond the Garage

Motorcycles aren’t the only thing keeping Brandon busy. At home, he and his wife share their lives with three rescue dogs and two rescue cats. They keep things lively, just like his builds. And when it comes to food, Brandon keeps it classic: his favorite restaurant is Charras and Tequila for the incredible food and margaritas, and his go-to sandwich? A jalapeño summer sausage masterpiece topped with cheese, mayo, horseradish mustard, red onion, and arugula.

Gratitude and Looking Ahead

Above all, Brandon is thankful—for the friends, family, and fellow builders who’ve shaped his journey. “Just a big thanks to everyone who’s helped me when it comes to bikes over the years and who’s given me the knowledge that I have today. You all rule.”

As for what’s next? Brandon is bringing his Shovelhead to Mama Tried, freshly painted and ready for the spotlight—a fitting stage for a builder who can’t leave well enough alone.
